Spring might be coming…We have been experiencing truly Iowa weather lately! Just wait 5 minutes and it will be something else. We are blessed living here in Iowa! I have lots of flowers making their way through the ground and before long everyone will be complaining about having to mow the lawn AGAIN! The flowers will be absolutely beautiful because April showers bring May flowers and we certainly have had a lot of April showers! The warmer weather is getting me excited for my porch swing…anyone that knows me knows I love that swing and soon you will be finding me there! Enjoy looking around Iowa Made Stuff and I ask that you try to support all the people you find here, they create wonderful things! :)
As a side note ~ anyone that has experienced wonderful service and would like to share with others…please let me know, I have been trying to expand my site to include them too.
Isn’t it wonderful living in Iowa! It is so enjoyable to watch people experience all the things that make us special. Today I’m thinking of ‘Sharing’ ~ look around and see all the people in your day and the difference they make for you…share your smile, some conversation, lend a helping hand, volunteer. It will renew your spirit and you will probably get more in return than you give! :)
Hi…I’m Julie and it’s my pleasure to introduce you to my website ~ Iowa Made Stuff! I’ve decided that I am a work in progress (probably always will be), so I hope you will join me as I introduce/reintroduce you to some Iowa made things.
Artisans have always fascinated me…such beautiful things their hands create. Next time you get a chance to watch them, please do, and ask them questions because they are doing what they love. We have many small businesses that are the backbone of the community…you know the ones that are always helping out and donating to all the local causes, we need to know more about them and the products they create. Don’t pass by their stores on the way to the mall…go in ~ you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find. Then there is ‘Mr. Big Business’, I think they get a bad rap many times…we have several that have chosen to call Iowa home, we should be proud of them. They too are partners in many communities. I am hoping this site will make finding Iowa made stuff be ‘just what you are looking for’ and very easy to use!
As I’ve ventured out in this great state, I’ve found there are some really awesome things going on here. There are people that create things and there are businesses that thrive here. I’ve also discovered that there are many, many things that I wasn’t even aware existed…I want to share ~ Iowa Made Stuff ~ with a user friendly site so you can find those things too. How about let’s all just think about “Buy Iowa First” and see what a difference that would make!
