Iowa Made Stuffyou would never imagine how many really interesting things are made everyday right here in Iowa.  It’s amazing!  When I started doing some research about Iowa made (I had already known some from my former occupation)…there were things I’ve seen on shelves many times and didn’t know they were Iowa made.  I’m guessing you are like me, so I’m trying to build a site that will give you the opportunity to find ‘Iowa Made Stuff’ all in one location.  I will always be a work in progress, so if you are a business or a vendor or someone who knows about an awesome Iowa made product and want to be included email me.  This will be a wonderful way to keep Iowa out in front and ready to GROW!!!

Fabrications by Doris ~
Doris Deutmeyer is a fiber artist and former elementary art educator working in the arts for over 35 years. She is best known for her fused applique fabric landscapes and mini foundation pieced quilt blocks which are matted and framed. Doris exhibits her fiber art work at Quilt/Sewing Expos, Fine Art/Craft shows, and local art exhibits. That explains Doris…but what she does you must see!  It fascinates me how she can take fabric and make the beautiful pictures that she does ~ simply Awesome!

Since Doris is a teacher, Fabrications by Doris goes on the road teaching.  She is always happy to share her knowledge and to help you be creative too.  That is why she has a full schedule of lectures and workshops ~ If you find her anywhere close be sure to visit and see the beautiful things she has to offer.  Thanks Doris!

Imperial Tool & Die Inc. ~
Imperial Tool & Die is located in Northeast Iowa and also in my favorite place ~ the place I call home ~ Colesburg, ‘Gateway to the Beautiful Hill Country’.  It’s the truth we have a community logo.  In 1990 brothers Larry & Mike Thein set up shop and began working for themselves.  Starting out was quite an undertaking, but they have done well.

Imperial Tool is a general machine and die company that builds plastic injection and die cast molds for a variety of products.  What Mike and Larry do isn’t something everyone has a need for, but I’m sure there are businesses out there that do.  If you have any questions call the guys and see what they can do for you.  Remember it’s always good to do business locally.  Thanks Mike & Larry for being part of our community!
